About Primary Care Nurse Practitioners: Primary Care NPs: Primary Care Nurse Practitioners are educated, certified and licensed to provide comprehensive, chronic, continuous care characterized by a long-term relationship with the patient. Nurse Practitioner (NPs) are also referred as an ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) or APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse).
